Whether you are just beginning to use Jamaroma to learn lead guitar or if you have been playing for and years these tips will make you become a better player. People have been teaching themselves to play guitar from the very start, and new online courses is certainly making that easier - but even if you have the luxury of being privately trained by a master guitar professional, these tips will definitely make you a better guitar player.

Number one, the critical tip for all lead guitar players - even rock stars - is to practice each fingering pattern and riff as slowly as necessary to play it perfectly from the first time you try it out. Mastering guitar is based on muscle memory, and every time you make a mistake you remember that as surely as you remember a perfect run.

Remember, FROM THE FIRST TIME YOU TRY, practice every run as slowly as necessary to play it perfectly. Once you have played it perfectly you can work towards playing at speed. I promise speed will come once you are comfortable, but if you start making mistakes you will create a major setback in your quest to master guitar.

If you take nothing else away from this but begin to practice this way I am confident you will see a difference immediately!

The next critical tip to becoming a better guitarist is to play lead guitar in front of someone as often as possible. Every day. Just as important as mastering runs perfectly from the first is becoming comfortable playing in front of other people. Even one person. Try to at least play one song in front of one other person every single day. Video yourself. Not to watch yourself as much as to play in front of the camera if no human is available.

Then, when you are comfortable playing in front of another person, find a small group to play for - even at break at work or after school. Churches are always looking for musicians that will play for free. A local deli or coffee shop will also often let you try it out as well.

Also, record yourself every day and listen to yourself play. This is different from video. Don't get lost in watching. Just listen. Not so much for mistakes as for what you like and don't like that you hear yourself play. Remember to do this every day. Keep what you like and record over the rest. Then, from time to time go back and listen to earlier tapes. You'll both be impressed with your progress and remember some riffs you really liked that have slipped your mind.

Body positioning is really critical to learning and playing guitar successfully. You need to find a comfortable position, whether sitting or standing. You need to find a stance that allows good posture while also allowing you to keep your arms, legs, neck and neck relaxed.

Practice ways to move around without hampering your playing. It is critical for you to be able to stay relaxed and comfortable in order to avoid fatigue. Watch videos of your favorite lead guitar players and just watch how they sit, stand and move. Watch especially for movements that rearrange their arms, legs and bodies. You will have to watch closely - it may be almost imperceptible - but I promise it is there if you watch closely. Watch for shoulders moving from side to side, legs bending and stretching - little things that aren't intrusive but make a huge difference.

Finally, it is critical to play with a metronome to become precise with your timing. Just search metronome on google and use one online. Learning to follow someone else's count is imperative to improved guitar playing!

I know, none of these tips are rocket science, or even new, but practice them faithfully and you'll be amazed at how quickly you will improve. Have fum! Not yet using Jamorama Lead Guitar? Check out my site below to find out all about it.
